The video was shot partially in the South Island and partially shot in the North Island of New Zealand. I initially envisioned underwater shots, looking upwards toward a row boat. The other idea was to float through an orchard, which is tied to Manutuke roots. I grew up on an orchard on the outskirts of Gisborne.
I met Ed Davis (film maker) after a gig we played in a very remote place called Karamea and it turns out that he made the only real music video that I liked (Gramsci - Don’t) so it was some kind of weird syncronicity. I think the video reflects the organic flow that is evident within my music. It was shot after a long tour, so I was pretty wrecked and looking a bit porky!
Made by Ed Davis. Shot in New Zealand
